Irish Whiskey

The boozey boys over at Esquire offer a lesson in the finer points of Irish whiskey, just in time for St. Patrick's Day. "First, you should know that Irish whiskey bears little resemblance to its American counterparts like bourbon," writes Paul Schrodt. "It's a somewhat smoother variety, and it also doesn't have the smokier notes found in that other great European liquor, Scotch." They call out three brands to try along with five St. Patrick's Day cocktails that even the Irish drink.
