Intel:
Barbershop Wisdom

The grooming-minded gents at Kempt sit down with Jay Seldin, who just released his new coffee table tome, The Barbershop Book. It's a sort of No Reservations-style look at barbershops in some of the most remote corners of India, China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Haiti and Cuba. They ask him about the different barber practices, his most remote shops and most importantly, how this project came about.

Men have been doing this for thousands of years and, regardless of the culture, the local barbershop is a conduit for news near and far, and oral history that’s passed along to the man sitting in the barber chair.
