Vanity Fair catches up with James Cameron on the journey of his latest film, the blue-hued, sci-fi action flick turned love story, "Avatar." In the 12 years since his last feature (remember "Titanic"?), Cameron's been honing the cutting-edge motion-capture and 3D technologies that make "Avatar" such a novel experience. And when it opens this weekend, you can bet he'll be there.

I have a little thing: on opening night I like to go out and see the crowds and it's compulsive but I'll go into the theater and make sure it's being projected properly.
