A Headlong Dive makes a very good point with their post titled The Only Shirt You Need, singing the praises of the oxford cloth button down (certainly a year-round favorite of ours). Their choice? The Gitman Vintage oxford. "What sets the Gitman variety apart from the competition? As they tell it, 'Our Gitman Vintage Oxford long sleeve button down has a higher armhole and narrower sleeve; it's not super-slim nor crazy-boxy. In other words, it fits right. This fabric was used for the first stock shirt made in 1978, and it's the very same cloth from the same mill, that we use today.'" There's not much arguing with that.
