Objectified:
Blue Bottles

The New York Times writer David Colman has a unique way of noticing and reporting on trends that go otherwise unnoticed. Today, he writes on the proliferation of blue bottles on men's cologne counters. "Why so blue? What gives? A Democratic president? A longing for ol' blue eyes or clear blue skies?" writes Colman. It turns out it all starts out with the fragrance Cool Water, which one might remember as the one to have back in the mid '90s. It was the first men's scent to offer a soapy "brightness and pop that was very different from the traditional European ingredients like citrus and lavender."
