The Next Gen Hard Seltzers Are Here
Beverage companies have invented several new genres of summer drinks
Parties and get-togethers might look more normal this summer, but we can't say the same for the drinks cooler.
Hard seltzer is not going away any time soon. More and more flavors continue to hit the market. But Truly, one of the biggest brands, is evolving past the can. Behold, hard seltzer ice pops.
The flavors are based on Truly's spiked lemonade pack and include Original Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade and Mango Lemonade. Each pop contains just 80 calories and five percent ABV, which is the same amount each can of Truly boasts.
Similarly, The Natural Light spinoff Naturdays (a fruity lager brand) now has an alcoholic frozen option. Taking it a step further are smoothie-style hard seltzers from craft breweries, which add huge amounts of real fruit, such as strawberries, bananas and pineapple, to a neutral gluten-free alcohol base, creating a drink that tastes like a fizzy daiquiri or tropical cocktail.
FYI
The first day of summer is technically June 20th.
Time to Rethink
Frozen Drinks
A well made frozen cocktail is exactly what you need right now. Like a hammock, these drinks seem to instantly engage the relaxation centers of your brain.
