A desk pad is an underrated office essential
They go by many names. Traditionally, they're called desk blotters—because they originally served as a writing surface that protected your desk from sharp pens and spilled ink. Nowadays, they're more likely referred to as desk pads. But they still serve much of the same purpose, protecting the surface of your desk while providing you a workspace and maybe a comfortable place to lay your hands while you work. They're practical, sure, but they're also stylish—adding a shot of leather (or perhaps wool) to warm up the aesthetics of your workspace.
