Google Flights is refunding the difference when ticket prices drop (for a limited time)

Shortly after shutting down its travel-planning “Trips” app, Google has just announced a fresh slate of travel-related features for other products, including one that all price-sensitive travelers can appreciate: a flight price guarantee. We've always appreciated how Google Flights let us know whether the price for a flight is considered high, low, or typical for the time of year and destination. But now, the booking platform will notify customers when it predicts that the price for flights they're tracking might go up soon (or if it won't get any lower).

Google is so confident, that these come with a money-back guarantee, for a limited time. The price guarantee applies to select domestic and international flights booked between now and September 2, 2019. Those fares (for flights through November 24) will be designated with a price guarantee badge. Google will monitor the flight prices and refund you the difference if the price dips before you take off.

To get your money back, the price difference must be greater than $5, and you could receive up to $500 back in total for all of the flights booked with Google price guarantee. In addition to saving you money, the new tools are aiming to save you planning time too. For those willing to hand over some personal data, Google can suggest accommodations based on your budget or their proximity to points of interest that you've searched for leading up to your trip. Google Maps has also been enhanced to include your personalized reservations for flights, hotels and restaurants at your destination. It certainly seems like a smarter way to travel. And if it doesn't work, well then there's a cash bonus.
