The New Shoes on Our Radar

From an ethically made boot to a shoe that can be thrown in the washer

Is it time to re-evaluate the footwear in your closet? Maybe this list will help get you going in the right direction. There are so many great shoes dropping these days, we thought we would pull a few of our current favorites to showcase. From a water-resistant boot and a pair of hiking sneakers to a merino wool shoe that’s completely washable, this is the footwear our team can’t stop talking about.

Bolinas Boot

As we switch seasons, you can expect some inclement weather just around the corner. This no-nonsense boot can survive in any terrain, from muddy pumpkin patch fields to slushy ice and freezing rain. Completely water-resistant, it's ethically made from all-natural rubber with a recycled poly-blend lining. And since they're from the sneaker brand SeaVees, you better believe they're the most comfortable rubber boots you'll ever pull on. Drag these through any form of water or mud—all you have to do is rinse, let dry, and they're brand new again.

City Series
Triest Sneaker

I don't know if you've heard, but the adidas Sambas are having a moment right now. Of course, if you're trying to start your own wave, then the Triest silhouette is the way to go. It's very similar to the classic Samba as far as the shape, except without the exaggerated tongue—these look more like old-school German army trainers. There's something about how the cream leather complements the tan rubber outsole—a match made in sneaker heaven. Rock these now with Camber sweats or a wool suit for a high/low juxtaposing fit.

Lace-Up Runner

Norse Projects sought to create a sneaker that functions like a hiking boot in their Arktisk collection, and we'd say they absolutely nailed it. The shoe features a lace lock with a stow-away pocket, a Hydro Guard membrane to resist rain and wind, along with an Ortholite insole for maximum comfort—no matter your adventure. You can wear these from the office to the trails or down some slopes—they're that versatile. Feel free to go full tech mode with these or just pull on some relaxed black denim for a sleek, stylish kit.

The Monty Sneaker

Rothy's makes it easy for you to care for their products thanks to its versatile, washable merino wool—and these are no different. The Monty was influenced by the 1960s action film Bullitt set in the brand's hometown of San Francisco (and starring the ultimate cool guy, Steve McQueen). The simple sneaker features a soft, flexible upper knit from merino wool, and a sturdy crepe outsole provides added support in your footbed. What's more, they can go right in the washing machine whenever you need to refresh them. Besides being easy to clean and extremely comfortable, they're also sustainably made—eight recycled water bottles helped create this one pair of shoes.

Gravity 11 Runner

Wearing elevated running sneakers with jeans or sweats has been the go-to move lately, and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. J.Crew has been on everyone's radar as of late, and rightfully so. They've been collaborating with some great brands, including Colorado-based performance shoe company, Newton Running. Other than being a stylish trainer, Newton prioritizes comfort with their durable Hytrel footbed—a lightweight cushioning made from recyclable resources that emphasizes stability. The Gravity 11 sneaker keeps the runner in mind with its featherweight feel and versatility—plus this cool green colorway is exclusive to J.Crew, so good luck finding it somewhere else.
