Sport Coats

A properly fitted sport coat is like a good diver watch—a wardrobe workhorse that looks appropriate in any number of situations. Soft in the shoulders and slightly relaxed, it exemplifies the current movement of "dressed down tailoring" that's defining the way stylish men want to dress these days. Which is why this new crop of jackets layer as easily over your T-shirts and sweaters as they do a more traditional shirt and tie. So grab one or two cut from seasonal fabrics like corduroy and wool, and don't be afraid of some color or a little pattern like a bold plaid. The difference between the jacket your gramps wore and these come down to smarter details and a fresh, modern fit.
