  • About

Humberto Leon and Carol Lim sought to put the spotlight on fresh, young American designers, but are also globally-minded people. Opening Ceremony pits American fashion talent versus a variety of other countries, creating fun, stylish rivalries. As the brand grew and expanded to LA and even a gift shop at New York's Ace Hotel, the retailer became known for its collaborations, whether with actress Chloe Sevigny, American printmaker Pendleton or a variety of other brands. If it's fashionable, quirky and weird enough to get you noticed, it's probably at Opening Ceremony.
