I've never been the type to consider a piece of clothing an "investment," but I have often used the cost-per-wear theory to justify purchases that came with a tinge of financial guilt. Which is why, if I pull the trigger on this Nigel Cabourn officers jacket, I'll be wearing it relentlessly until it's only cost me a few cents each time I pull it on. Which would be a good thing, considering the paraffin-coated cotton will only get better looking with a patina from years of consistent wear. Cabourn is famous for his attention to authentic archival details and infamous for his steep prices. But I can't help it. This is more than a jacket. It's a dream, personified in waxed cotton and finished with corozo buttons. A perfect balance between peak lapel respectability and a comfortable, relaxed reliability. I just won't be wearing it to any expensive dinners for a while.
